Here is a poster I designed. I have always been experimenting with text and imagery and I thought this would make an interesting poster. 2 versions – one black and white, and the other in colour. As with my other posters they do not advertise anything but try to evoke thoughts and feelings.

Logos -1
As you can see from my previous blog posts I have created several vinyl toys and characters over the past year or so. For each one I created a logo, however the logo may not be shown in the images I have captured. Some of the logos can be seen in the image below. I will post up some more of these logos later.

Fashion Illustration – 9
Another group of images from my fashion illustration series. It is nice to get away form the computer and draw in pencil and ink. I have previously looked at character, style, pattern and costume, but with these images I wanted to look at anatomy. This is something I have more experience in, but here it is in the context of fashion.

Txtgrrrl: Mobile Machinima – Part 2
A second set of images from way back in 2008. The explanation for the project can be found here.
The initiative that funded the project was called Pocket Shorts, but I now believe that this had been disbanded which is a shame. It was a good funding initiative to give film makers, game designers and creatives a chance to fund small projects for mobile phones.
The work has been archived at a site called Pocket Place, but it looks like this is not getting updated either.

Random sketches - 1
I’ve no idea what I was trying to do it these sketches. I was trying something new in photoshop with portraits, but I don’t know what. Sometimes it can be hard to experiment in digital media and sometimes it doesn’t work.
Fashion Illustration – 8
With these images I’m looking at costume design and character. Using pencil and fine liners to get different results I am trying to express the different emotions that the costumes can present. I am also taking influences from the photography of Helmut Newton and the fashion designs of Thierry Mugler.

Life drawing and anatomy sketches 25
3 images concentrating on the portrait. I haven’t posted many facial studies recently so it is good to return to the subject to make sure that I haven’t got too rusty.

Game Images
A while ago I completed an art test for a video games company in Dundee. Basically before they get you in for an interview they ask you to create some sample images. I created the images and they emailed me back to tell me the position was already filled.
Disappointing, never the less I got two pretty decent images out of it. Here they are below.

Txtgrrrl: Mobile Machinima – Part 1
These images are from a Machinima series I created for mobile phones way back in 2008. Machinima is an animation method that utilises 3D Game Technology to tell stories. I have not showcased this work on the blog, so I thought I’d post it up here.
The title of the series is Txtgrrrl and the Machinima told the story of a girl who is so transfixed with her phone, she does not notice the bright and colourful world around her.
For the series I received a commission from Scottish Screen, The Scottish Arts council and other sponsors to create 2, 30 second episodes.
The episodes were made in 2008 and were specifically designed for mobile phones. Two websites were created to promote TxtGrrrl and are now archived at http://www.steven-portfolio.co.uk/.
I will post up some more images later.

Lewis Chessmen – 2
The second sketch that I’ve done of the Lewis Chessmen. This, as with the previous image, was illustrated using pencil. Less of an experiment and more of a departure from life drawing.
